At Temple, Joe was editor-in-chief of The Temple News and a Dow Jones News Fund editing intern at The New York Times. He also reported for the Philadelphia Daily News in 2015 before its merger with the Philadelphia Inquirer.

After graduation, he covered crime and courts in South Jersey for NJ.com before shifting to TV/digital, writing for NBC10 Philadelphia and LX.com.
