Evanston police said on Sunday, Dec. 8, around 6:40 a.m., officers responded to a call of a man asleep behind the wheel near the intersection of Dodge Avenue and Monroe Street.
The man was hit in the head by gunfire and then crashed into two parked vehicles before coming to a stop.
Chicago police said a female witness inside the home told them that she heard shots and found the victims in the living room with gunshot wounds.
Police said that the suspect is a known street gang member.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said just after 10 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to the motel in the 31200 block of North Route 45 for a report of a fight and stabbing.
David Brantley of Hazel Crest, Illinois, and Tayvon Andrews of Chicago, both 18, were charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, possessing a stolen vehicle, and a misdemeanor count of resisting a peace officer.
Chicago police said a 14-year-old boy suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body, including his neck, one to his chest, two to his back, and one to his left hand.
A total of 11 cars have been stolen this month during the evening and early morning hours—the latest two were taken on Saturday.
It happened on Nov. 26 between 2 and 4:45 p.m. in the 3600 block of North Winthrop Avenue.
Police did not specify what the relationship was believed to be between the shooting and the crash.
Surveillance photos captured the suspect, who they said entered a yard in the 1800 block of West Balmoral Avenue on Nov. 29 around 2:30 a.m.
The fire was under control in under an hour, and the scene was cleared just after 7 a.m.
Chicago police said the woman was inside her residence when an unknown male entered and opened fire–hitting her about the body.
The ages of the victims range from 17 to 50.
