Investigators say that the skateboarder, 23-year-old Peter Bryan Duran Morquecho, was riding along Main Street near 15th Street when he was struck and killed at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Circumstances surrounding the homicide remain unclear, but SkyCal flew over the scene of the incident and saw a car suffering from considerable damage in the middle of the street surrounded by crime scene tape.
The shooting happened at around 9:45 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Street, deputies said.
The shooting happened at around 3:20 p.m. in the 3000 block of Wabash Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The blaze was first reported a little before 1 p.m. and by 2:30 p.m. crews had stopped the forward progress.
Police say that the suspect, 34-year-old Guillermo Penaloza, ran from the scene of the violent crash that killed a man and left a woman in critical condition on Friday.
