Chilekasi Adele is a multi-skilled journalist at CBS News Philadelphia, who joined the station in May 2026.
Adele comes to CBS News Philadelphia from our sister station, KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh. At KDKA, he was part of the station's coverage of the Trump Assassination Attempt, the 2024 Presidential Election, and the explosion at a Pittsburgh-area U.S. Steel Plant back in August 2025.
He especially enjoys covering stories involving politics and transportation.
Chilekasi reported for KDKA's morning news program, often going live and filing reports for the station's afternoon and evening shows. He also contributed to the station's "On a Positive Note" series, filing longer reports on positive and cool things in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Chilekasi is a native of Aldan, Delaware County. He attended Saint Eugene School in Primos before going to Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School in Drexel Hill, from which he graduated in 2020.
He's also very familiar with our newsroom, interning at CBS Philadelphia and WCAU-TV before graduating from Syracuse University in 2024 with a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. At Syracuse, he was heavily involved in student media - reporting, anchoring, and serving on the executive staff at CitrusTV, while also doing work for 88.3 WAER-FM and 89.1 WJPZ-FM.
Chilekasi is currently on a quest to visit all 30 MLB ballparks and is a huge fan of the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and Sixers.
He also has some countries he would like to visit eventually. So far, he's been to Canada and his parents' native Nigeria in addition to the United States.
Right now, Adele is living in the city of Philadelphia.
