A fire in New Jersey's Bass River State Forest continues to grow Thursday, spreading to 5,000 acres. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is asking people to avoid the area.

A 12-year-old boy has died, and his mom and 7-year-old sister are critically injured, after a fire at the Fox Meadow apartment complex.
The home on the 300 block of West Third Street was on fire around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A man was taken into custody Thursday after a body was found dead inside a Mount Laurel hotel.

The fire in Washington Township Burlington County scorched almost 260 acres.
The wildfire, named the "River Road Wildfire," is 95% contained, according to the NJFFS.
The fire sparked off Route 524 and River Road in Washington Township.
Firefighters saved a homeowner's property, and fire officials said they'd contained the fire to the point that no structures were at risk.

New Jersey Forest Fire Service is battling a wildfire off Route 542 and River Road in Washington Township.
Fire crews placed wildfire in Little Egg Harbor Township that burned portions of Bass River State Forest 100% under control, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service wrote in a tweet Sunday.
The New Jersey Forest Fire Service says a wildfire first noticed around 10 a.m. Saturday has grown to 200 acres.
