American alligators and American crocodiles aren't typically found in Pennsylvania, according to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
The alligator was later identified as "Fluffy" by their owner.
The alligator was spotted at Penn Pines Park near Providence Road and swam off in the direction of Yeadon.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission responded to the scene, but Upper Darby police said the alligator swam off in the direction of Yeadon.
On Saturday morning another alligator was rescued in Philadelphia, the fifth in only a few months. The owner contacted the animal care and control team of Philadelphia asking to surrender the gator because they no longer had the space for it.
ACCT Philly says the alligator is healthy but smaller than normal for his age and will quarantine at a facility in Allentown and then go to JAWS Florida just like the alligator Big Mack.
The alligator was more than 10 feet long, wildlife officials said. It was captured and humanely killed after the attack, officials said.
