A suspected shooter remained barricaded on Braintree Drive early Wednesday evening.
Police reported a suspect was barricaded at the scene after the shooting, and asked that anyone living in close proximity stay inside for safety.
Officers at the scene were armed with large weapons after the shooting. It was not known whether they had the gunman cornered or they had the weapons for another reason.
Schaumburg police said around 3:30 p.m. that they were called to the 800 block of South Braintree Drive for a person shot.
