The death toll in the Israel-Hamas War is growing as the call for a cease-fire and to bring hostages home is getting louder.

"The biggest thing right now for them is decompression. We're trying to socialize them the best we can but they need to calm down and realize they're in a safe place."
CBS 2's Andrew Ramos reports the shelter took in the animals from a severe hoarding situation and the animals are getting shots and chipped, awaiting their forever homes.

Police said they continue to investigate the crash due to "several inconsistencies."
Waukegan Road in Northbrook was shut down at the scene late Monday afternoon.

A woman came to the shelter and said she wanted to adopt her: "Because I saw her on CBS this morning and fell in love with her."
There will be a Trunk or Treat event at the shelter in Northbrook on October 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"It's horrible," said Gene Krichevsky. "It's been a nightmare for over a year."
The goal is to eliminate the risk of fire or shock. Scenarios involve equipment of all sizes for vehicles of all sizes.
