The 17-year-old was arrested on Friday in the 1500 block of South Loomis Street by members of the Area 1 Homicide Investigative Support Team.
Police say the teen told officers he was walking when a man walked up and they got into an argument.
It happened around 1:15 a.m. in the 300 block of West Marquette Road.
It happened at Jackson and Hoyne, about a block away from the Chicago Bulls College Prep high school.
Chicago police have blocked the area with tape as the investigation into the incident continues.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday near 147th and Perry Avenue.
The ages of the victims range from 16 to 50.
Around midnight, police said a 40-year-old man got into an argument with another man as they exited the 77 Belmont bus near Cicero Avenue.
All three men were held in custody.

Officers responded to the scene, where they found the victim, a 31-year-old man, who had been shot.
Chicago police said a 30-year-old woman was inside a residence when a bullet flew through a window and hit the victim in the left thigh.

Around 5:43 p.m. Saturday, Gary police officers responded to reports of multiple gunshot victims in the 3500 block of Massachusetts Street.
Police say they found the 21-year-old woman who was shot in the stomach around 1:20 a.m. Saturday. A man with a hand gun ran from the scene.
Preliminary information indicated that a male pulled out a firearm during an argument and shot at the victims before leaving the scene.
It happened just after 11:30 p.m. in the front yard of a residence in the 5000 block of W. West End Avenue in the Austin neighborhood.
The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Halsted Street.
The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.
Police said just before 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person who was shot inside building 12 at the Garden Estates West apartment complex.
The video appears to show the shooter walking across Florida State's campus Thursday afternoon, with people sprinting away as he opened fire.
