A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Saturday night in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
Most recently, a man was shot to death early Monday in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side, police said. About 4:30 a.m., the 21-year-old was a passenger in a vehicle in the 2400 block of South Sawyer when someone fired shots from the sidewalk, striking him in the chest, police said.
Four people were injured in a crash involving an IDOT vehicle early Sunday in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.
About 8:10 p.m., two gunmen approached the victims in the 8000 block of South Stewart Avenue and opened fire, police said.
He was standing outside in the 8000 block of South Maryland Avenue about 1 a.m. when someone approached him and an altercation ensued, according to police. The man was shot in the side during the encounter.
The fatal shooting happened Thursday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood. Ramon Gartman, 33, was discovered unresponsive in the 8400 block of South Commercial at 11:48 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his face, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The 57-year-old man was inside a first-floor apartment in the 1400 block of East 69th Street about 1:15 a.m. when shots were fired from the hallway and he was hit in the right leg, police said.
The most recent fatal shooting happened early Sunday in the South Side Marquette Park neighborhood. Nyerere Lloyd, 26, was standing on the sidewalk in the 3100 block of West 64th Street about 12:40 a.m. when two males walked up and fired shots.
