Chicago police are warning residents of armed robberies in the Englewood neighborhood this month.
Another chance to highlight Englewood excellence is happening this weekend.
Chicago police said the 14-year-old and 18-year-old were in a car near 70th Street and Normal Avenue at 1 a.m.
"Everything that we grow here goes to our local farmers markets that serve the Latino and African-American communities."
Kids can learn new computer skills and explore their creativity with video equipment, 3D printers, textiles and other technology.
Police said the boy was walking near 68th and Normal, when two people got out of a car and started shooting, before fleeing the scene.
The robberies happened in the months of July and August.
Last year's festival drew about 3,000 people.
The crash happened in the busy intersection of 63rd and Halsted streets.
A 28-year-old man was driving a GMC north on Halsted when he ran the red light at 63rd Street and hit a Honda driven by a 54-year-old woman, police said.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
The E.G. Woode Initiative is a cooperative effort, hosting Powell's Barbershop, Marie Wesley, Momentum Coffee and Beehyyve in the former liquor store at 63rd and May.
Two other people, including the boy's mother, were shot during the incident but are expected to survive.
