It’s time to lace up your skates and enjoy a favorite winter activity - ice skating begins at the Chicago Park District’s outdoor rinks citywide this week.
Ice skating on the ribbon at Maggie Daley Park has already begun. On Friday, Nov. 24 – weather permitting – ice skating will also open for the other five outdoor Park District rinks.
The department is hosting its annual Fall Festival in Jefferson Park Sunday afternoon.
Kids and their families are invited to dress up in costumes to enjoy crafts and pumpkins.
The new fieldhouse is expected to open in early 2025.
Construction on the $7 million project starts in January.

The Chicago Park District says all the pools will close for necessary maintenance and to prepare staff for fall programs.
Indoor pools are also closed for the season.
Online registration is now open for virtual and in-person programs at all parks west of California Avenue.

Online registration is now open for virtual and in-person programs at all parks west of California Avenue. Registration for the remaining parks will open Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.
The includes a summer skate party at McKinley Park Friday, and movies in the park at Loyola Park Saturday with a showing of "Top Gun: Maverick."
Why not spend it in a Chicago Park.
That includes after-school programs, swim classes, arts in the parks, sports, and nature programs.
The session runs from Sept. 5 through Dec. 10.
