The union representing Park District workers says there are still lifeguard shortages. But the city says all the pools are safe and will be staffed throughout the entire summer. CBS 2's Jermont Terry reports.

The union entered contract negotiations with the Chicago Park District on Wednesday, and is asking for higher wages.
The Park District did tell us final hiring steps – including required training – will be completed this week in anticipation of the opening date Friday.
Some are frustrated that programs at the park which have existed for years -- will be displaced, with just a few days' notice. They're set to be moved a few miles north to McKinley Park. CBS 2's Sabrina Franza reports
Some neighbors near the park in North Lawndale have been complaining about the crowds and the damage left behind in past years.
Last year, because of a shortage of lifeguards, pools didn't open until after July 4th.
It said its goal is to open city pools for the season on June 23rd.
In a statement, the city said the Broadway Armory is being considered along with other locations.
The City of Chicago is eyeing one of the Chicago Park District's biggest active facilities as a possible shelter space for migrants. The Broadway Armory Park has been used as an emergency homeless shelter during the pandemic. But as CBS 2's Marissa Perlman explained, neighbors worry this could mean youth and senior programs will get cut.
