The Illinois Secretary of State is officially rolling out the program on Friday in hopes of putting an end to long lines.
Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced the program back in July.
Giannoulias announced more than $21 million in grants for library services and almost $6 million in adult literacy grants across the state.
In all, the state issued more than 140 library and literacy grants.
The funds will go to six different law enforcement agencies to give them the resources they need.
