Ahead of Memorial Day Weekend, state officials are warning families about the risk of drownings.
A mother who lost her son to a drowning in 2022 is urging other parents to be careful with their children when they're at the pool or the beach. WBZ-TV's Tiffany Chan reports.

A study from Alive Solutions found swimsuits that were brighter in color were more visible in bodies of water, and is a recommended safety measure to prevent young children from drowning.
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is also adding more lifeguards to 32 of its most popular swimming areas.
The DCR is warning swimmers to stay in designated swim areas and use the buddy system as large crowds are expected to visit state beaches this weekend. WBZ-TV's Paul Burton reports.
Local organizations and companies are promoting ways to keep kids safe this summer after two young children with autism were found dead near bodies of water in the last two months. WBZ-TV's Louisa Moller reports.
