On Tuesday night, Mayor Mattie Parker voiced her frustrations directly to the Fort Worth ISD school board after a recent report revealed alarmingly low student performance rankings for FWISD.

Fort Worth ISD went back to school Tuesday morning. As the new school year begins, FWISD is rolling out a new, free dinner program.
The district is partnering with food service company Sodexo to launch a free dinner program.
The master plan for schools in Fort Worth ISD is once again on ice. Board members said they want parent input before adopting the five-year strategic plan. Some board members said there was a lack of transparency with the plan.
"She continues to hire administration who is publicly known to model and cultivate toxic culture," a former FWISD teacher said.
The school board voted to approve the contract and evaluation for Angelica Ramsey. The board did not give exact details on what the vote entailed.
Texas may be booming, but that doesn't spare its schools from what's happening nationwide.
Meals will be offered starting Wednesday, June 5 through Tuesday, July 2 and will be available Monday through Thursday.

FWISD could not say how much money trimming 133 positions would save the district, especially as they try to reassign impacted employees back into the system.
