A total of 2,270 Dallas County residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19 illness after 39 more deaths were reported Tuesday.
"There's a lot of miscommunication about what the process is," said organizer Leslie Cannon. "I think a lot of inequities are playing in."
The 40 additional COVID-19 deaths reported Monday, tie Dallas County's highest report of deaths on a given day.
Dallas County on Sunday reported 1,617 new cases of COVID-19, along with 12 more deaths.
Dallas County ended this week with 183 deaths to COVID-19, which is the most in one week since the pandemic began.
With one day of reporting left to go, Dallas County has already seen its deadliest week to COVID-19 since the pandemic began as it added 30 more deaths on Friday.
A total of 2,129 Dallas County residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19 illness after 37 more deaths were reported Thursday.
