Chicago Park District taking applications for summer lifeguards
The summer lifeguard season starts in May, and runs through early September. At the end of summer, seasonal lifeguards may have the opportunity for full-time jobs.

"There's significant evidence of Darien's innocence that makes it so that we're surprised that the state is retrying the case," Darien Harris' attorney said.
"We will not proceed with housing families on a site where serious environmental concerns are still present," Pritzker said.
Latrice Phillips, 51, is charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of 33-year-old Calvin Truitt.
Police said two people were robbed in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue around 7:40 a.m.
Over the weekend, the city said the site is safe to house migrants, following an environmental review that prompted the removal of contaminated soil.
Police said, in each of the robberies, four people approached victims near or at a street vendor location, flashed rifles and handguns, and stole the victim's property.
Chicago police confirmed late Sunday night that the fire has been classified as an arson. Area 1 detectives were investigating.
"Well, I'm not very, um, fond of the way they've conducted themselves up until this point, and as far as I'm concerned, they can go (expletive) themselves. Good luck getting it on the agenda."
The victims have been identified as William S. Davis, 52, and Chelsi A. Bates, 31, both of Arkansas.
Ald. Chris Taliaferro (29th) said the fieldhouse will reopen Monday, allowing for after-school programming and other services to resume.
"Last time we met, I got my son at Ignatius (College Prep) and a big mortgage. We talked about a marketing arrangement. I want to get my son in college and it's very important to me."

The overnight winter parking ban is enforced between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. from Dec. 1 through April 1 on 107 miles of the city's main streets, whether it's snowing or not.
The officer, who is a veteran with more than 15 years with the Bedford Park Police Department, had emergency surgery on Sunday. At last check, he was still in the ICU, but is expected to make a full recovery.
