Major stories he has covered include the deadly boiler room explosion in Gatesville, Texas; the passing of South Carolina native and beloved actor Chadwick Boseman; a student's Title IX case in Charlotte, and Hurricane Helene's impact in western North Carolina.

Family members identified the victim as Amani Edwards, aged 9.
