The nonprofit, Los Angeles County Firemen's Benefit and Welfare Association is asking for community help for the 11 firefighters on duty that night who lost countless personal items as well as special equipment.
Liana Nitka, who is scheduled to graduate this month from UCLA, is alleging civil rights violations, negligence, assault battery and breach of contract in her Los Angeles Superior Court proposed class-action lawsuit, filed on Monday.
Chief Michael Dorsey, Fontana Police Department said, "Some of the critiques I got were statements such as, 'this is exactly why females shouldn't be in law enforcement,' and I was quite appalled by those statements."
