Josh Sanders

Josh Sanders is a journalist shaped by life-changing experiences. He joined the CBS News Philadelphia team in August 2023 as a reporter and multi-skilled journalist and recently joined the morning team anchoring the Pulse Desk.

Before arriving in Philadelphia, Josh reported in Phoenix, where he covered the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Presidential election, and the complex systems that fuel social and economic inequity. He approaches each assignment with the belief that stories bridge divides, and he works to honor the people who share them with him.

Josh's career path began long before he entered a newsroom. He spent several years advising organizations on how to build more inclusive, equitable environments, speaking across the country about the experiences of LGBTQ+ communities in athletics, faith spaces, healthcare, and education. His work centered on helping institutions understand how policy, culture, and representation shape people's daily lives.

He also believes deeply in the unifying power of sports. He served as an entertainment host for the Los Angeles Dodgers and later worked as a sideline reporter and producer, covering the 2017, 2018, and 2020 Rose Bowl games.

A proud graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, Josh earned his Bachelor of Science and still loves cheering on the Dukes.

Josh describes himself as a nomad with roots. He has called many places home, including Madrid, Spain, and loves exploring new places, music, and a good meal.

He's excited Philadelphia is his newest home, alongside his adopted cat, David Bowie.
