Cooler Sunday with warming trend this week
Fall is officially here and today temperatures will feel fall-like with daytime high temperatures only climbing into the upper 50s and low 60s, well below normal by about 15 degrees.

The Rocky Mountain Showdown rivalry game between Colorado State and Colorado will get underway in Fort Collins at Canvas Stadium tonight at 5:30. Weather conditions will be sunny and warm with temperatures in the upper 80s.
Thanks to a cold front, daytime high temperatures will drop by about ten degrees today. The Front Range will be in the low 80s with the mountain in the 70s.
With the combination of gusty southerly winds and low relative humidity, a Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon today until 8 p.m. this evening.
Fire danger levels will rise in Colorado as winds kick up, humidity drops and temperatures climb into the low 90s. As a result of this weather change, Thursday will be a First Alert Weather Day.
Wednesday will not be as warm with daytime highs in the upper 80s.There's a chance for showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
Labor Day will be hot and sunny for the Front Range.
So far, we have had 53 days in Colorado this year with daytime highs of 90 degrees or above. The record is 75 days with daytime highs of 90 degrees or above, which was set in 2020.
Hotter-than-normal weather will dominate the forecast across Colorado on Tuesday and for many more days, but more seasonal temperatures are in the extended forecast.
A cold front that will move through Colorado overnight will bring cooler air and widespread rain showers.
A First Alert Weather Day continues because of the unhealthy air quality due to both local and out-of-state wildfire smoke.
After experiencing record breaking heat Friday and Sunday, we start the week with slightly "cooler" temperatures in the mid 90s.
