Vicky White, the corrections official who helped murder suspect Casey White escape from an Alabama prison more than a week ago, is dead. Sources say they think she died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Senate has passed legislation beefing up security for Supreme Court justices and their families after the leak of a draft majority opinion overturning Roe v. Wade. And - for the first time in more than 60 years, the opening of Parliament won’t include Queen Elizabeth. Buckingham Palace says the 96-year-old queen has been having mobility issues.
Car linked to missing inmate, jail official found
A Ford Edge that authorities said a missing Alabama inmate and jail official used as part of their getaway plan has been located in Tennessee. The car was found abandoned and towed last week, the same day the two went missing, but Alabama officials just learned of its whereabouts.

Casey White was taken back to Lauderdale County Tuesday night following his capture in Indiana on Monday. A coroner there says his alleged accomplice, Vicky White, no relation, died by suicide following a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. Omar Villafranca reports.

Casey White and Vicky White had about $29,000 in cash, multiple wigs, four handguns and an AR-15 rifle when they were captured, the sheriff said.

Coroner Steve Lockyear said in the statement that White died at 7:06 p.m. local time, adding that an autopsy is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
