Albert, or "Sammy" Bartley, as he is known, and his wife Malenda are immigrants from Jamaica who own a small restaurant in upstate New York serving Jamaican cuisine. Born in South Korea, chef Peter Serpico was adopted at two years old by an American couple and grew up in suburban Maryland. In 2013, he stepped out on his own and opened Serpico in Philadelphia.
