Nonprofit helps feed Minneapolis after unrest

Days after protests and fires ripped through Minneapolis, residents already impacted by the coronavirus pandemic's lockdowns were left with nowhere to buy groceries. The Sheridan Story, a nonprofit focused on feeding kids throughout Minnesota during food gaps, sprung into action. The group partnered with a local middle school after a community member put a call out on social media to help feed their neighbors. Jamie Yuccas speaks to Rob Williams, the Sheridan Story's founder and executive director.

Apple, Google plan COVID-19 contact tracker

The CEOs of Apple and Google are joining forces in a combined effort to combat the coronavirus. The Silicon Valley giants are each planning on rolling out technology on their operating systems in May that can notify someone if they’ve been in contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. Wired Editor-in-Chief Nick Thompson joins “CBS This Morning: Saturday” to explain the new technology and how people can use it to keep themselves safe.

Fallout from Trump's COVID-19 hospitalization

Not since President Reagan was shot in an assassination attempt nearly 40 years ago has there been this level of concern over the president’s health. The White House has not been forthcoming about President Trump’s condition, but he was taken to Walter Reed medical center Friday after testing positive for COVID-19. CBS News senior political analyst John Dickerson joins "CBS This Morning: Saturday" to discuss what happens now that the president is in the hospital.

Turkey imposes 48-hour coronavirus lockdown

With the global coronavirus death toll exceeding 100,000, the World Health Organization warns that lifting lockdown measures too early could lead to even deadlier outcomes. Turkey announced a 48-hour curfew for its major cities, becoming the latest country to enact such measures. Holly Williams reports on how Turkish residents prepared themselves for the lockdown that would leave only pharmacies, bakeries and essential services such as hospitals open.
