The tragic shooting of the Goldman Sachs researcher on a Q train has become an unusual political football, as the city's Taxi and Limousine Commission is considering increasing the pay for the drivers of for-hire vehicles. As CBS2's Marcia Kramer reports, the victim was apparently on the subway because Uber became too expensive.
Taxi drivers rallied Monday for a raise outside City Hall, while inside, the Taxi and Limousine Commission held a hearing discussing increasing drivers income for the first time since 2012.
"It's never too late to make things right," said Fernando Mateo of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers.
