Yonkers issues Halloween curfew for trick-or-treaters
YONKERS, N.Y. -- Halloween is just one week away, and the city of Yonkers has issued a curfew for trick-or-treaters.
The police department says children 11 and younger must be home by 10 p.m. next Tuesday.
Kids ages 12-13 can stay out until 10:30 p.m., and 14-16-year-olds must be home by 11 p.m.
City officials say there are some exceptions, including if children are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Police say patrols will be stepped up that night to ensure safety.
