In Florida, the charges are now felony offenses thanks to a bill signed into law in October 2024. Another law, which increased the penalties for such offenses, went into effect on Oct. 1.
It happened Tuesday morning at a Wawa in Port St. Lucie when ICE and border patrol were conducting an operation, police said.
Police said officers arrested 60-year-old Michael Jablonski on Sunday morning.
A West Palm Beach man is in jail on charges of resisting an officer with violence and battery on a police officer and is under investigation in connection with an alleged kidnapping and sexual assault, according to Port St. Lucie police.
