The officer was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.
After four months of extensive rehabilitation and multiple surgeries, Miami-Dade Motorman Matthew Larsh walked out of the rehab center on Friday ready to go home.

Coral Gables Police Chief Ed Hudak is thanking Miami residents who called in tips about the suspects.
The suspect has medium-length brown hair, stands about 6-feet 1-inches tall and has a thin build.
The Miami-Dade Police Department said the man was struck in the leg and has non-life threatening injuries.

"It is who I am," he said in an exclusive interview with CBS4's Peter D'Oench. "I have never felt like I have been somewhere. This is my identity. This uniform, this department, my police family, my community."
It happened off NW 47 Street and NW 32 Avenue.
Miami-Dade County officials said that in the upcoming weeks, they will be conducting a short-term pilot program for "peloton" group rides on the Rickenbacker Causeway.
