The Dish: Spice king Lior Lev Sercarz

The love of spices once sent ships sailing halfway around the globe -- and spices still play an essential role in cuisines around the world. Lior Lev Sercarz is a superstar of seasoning, who's spicing up the dishes of both restaurant kitchens and inspired home chefs. His blends, which can include up to 23 herbs and spices, are sought after by some of the world's most famous chefs -- including Eric Ripert and Daniel Boulud. Michelle Miller reports.

Priya Krishna reveals her signature recipes

Priya Krishna was born and raised in Dallas, and loved the foods her mother prepared: traditional Indian recipes, but with a modern American twist. After becoming a food writer for major magazines and newspapers, Krishna decided to share these unique creations in her new cookbook, "Indian-ish: Recipes and Antics from a Modern American Family." The book has been named one of the best cookbooks of spring by The New York Times, Food and Wine, and other publications.

George Azar reveals his signature recipes

George Azar was born in Detroit, the son of Palestinian immigrants. He’s worked at some of the best restaurants in the world, including Noma in Copenhagen and Alinea in Chicago. But through his travels, he developed a love for Vietnamese food. On a whim, he opened Flowers of Vietnam in Detroit. It was a huge hit – it’s been named one of America's best new restaurants by Bon Appetit and GQ. Now he's working on his next project, featuring regional specialties of Mexico, and tonight, he's one of just six honorees at the annual iconoclast dinner at the James Beard House here in New York.

Melissa Perello reveals her signature recipes

Across the U.S., only ten women chefs have been awarded a Michelin star. And Melissa Perello is one of them. She got her first kitchen job in high school, went on to the Culinary Institute of America, and then to San Francisco, where she opened "Frances' and later "Octavia." Both earned prestigious Michelin stars, an honor "Octavia" still holds. Now she's heading south to Los Angeles: her "M. Georgina" opens this summer at "Row DTLA," the hot new retail and dining project in the city's downtown.

The Dish: Chef Isaac Toups

Isaac Toups was born in Cajun country to a food-loving family that's lived in Louisiana for more than 300 years. From barbecues and fish frys to shrimp and crawfish boils, his early years were filled with flavor. After starting out as professional chef, he worked for Emeril Lagasse in New Orleans, where he and his wife Amanda opened their own venue called Toups' Meatery featuring house cured meats. Toups joins "CBS This Morning: Saturday" to discuss his culinary journey.

The Dish: Chef Jonathan Benno

Chef Jonathan Benno was raised in Connecticut farm country where family dinners included his grandmother's eggplant parmesan – made with eggplant right out of the garden. After training at the Culinary Institute of America, he learned from the best in the business, including Daniel Boulud, Tom Colicchio and Thomas Keller. Now he's taken over at New York's The Evelyn Hotel, opening Leonelli Taberna, Leonelli Focacceria, and his namesake, Benno. Benno joins "CBS This Morning: Saturday" to share about his culinary journey.
