Supporters call recent sexual abuse allegations against him unfounded and accuse the Archdiocese of Chicago of trying to destroy his ministry.
The leadership and members of St. Sabina Church spoke out on Friday, defending longtime pastor Fr. Michael Pfleger, who has stepped aside from the ministry amid an allegation of sexual abuse.
Due to the allegation, Father Pfleger will step aside from ministry and live away from the parish during the investigation, the archdiocese said.
