The vape shop in Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park has been targeted before, according to its owner.
The Lincoln Square standby, at 4721 N. Lincoln Ave., first announced its plans to close in September.
Police say the man went to buy the phone from a woman on Lincoln Avenue in Lakeview. Instead of selling the man a cellphone, the woman pulled a gun and took his personal belongings.
The man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair condition.
