On Sept. 17, authorities responded to the shooting where a 34-year-old man was struck and killed by gunfire from a passenger vehicle.
No one else was injured.
Preliminary reports from Illinois State Police say one man was found lying in the left lane and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Illinois State Police said four cars were traveling northbound when one of the cars struck a second vehicle which hit two others.
A 2014 white Jeep Cherokee was traveling southbound and struck the rear of another vehicle – causing it to roll multiple times, according to Illinois State Police.
The vehicle was occupied by an adult driver and two juveniles, ISP said.
Drivers said their travel times nearly doubled, and they were trying their best to maneuver the holiday havoc. CBS 2's Jermont Terry reports.
