Brookfield Zoo to host annual Party for the Planet recycling event

On Saturday, the zoo will host its annual Party for the Planet recycling event, followed by the Earth Day Run on Sunday.

Tickets go on sale Monday.
The zoo welcomed four meerkat pups, two male and two female, born on Feb. 11.

The new attraction can be found just east of the Roosevelt fountain. It is 110 feet tall with 24 gondolas that seat up to six people each.
Tickets for the Ferris wheel are $8 and $6 for zoo members. It opens on March 15.

The ad claimed to sell four zoo tickets for $6.95 for their 90th anniversary.
The bottlenose dolphins also got in on the holiday fun with their "home sweet home" snack.
