Family was waiting Sunday evening outside of Comer Children's Hospital for a status update after two of the brothers were rushed into surgery in critical condition.
The victim was taken to Adcvoate Christ Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
The teen was on the sidewalk in the 7600 block of South Green Street when he was shot in the stomach by an unkown person.
"We decided to design a building that welcomes everyone. To see in, to come in. We wanted to light up 79th Street both literally and figuratively."
The victim was shot moments after being robbed by four unknown suspects.
All three victims were hospitalized in good condition, police said.
