The new cases brought the total for the six-month outbreak to at least 617,333, with an estimated 89,791 cases now active.
"Today we are reporting our highest number of new COVID-19 cases that we've seen in some time," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
Like Dallas County and other counties across the state, Collin County reported a major spike in COVID-19 cases last week due to a backlog at the state level.
