Police fatally shot a woman in South Gate on Monday afternoon, hours after she was allegedly involved in a shooting at a Huntington Beach business that left a man hospitalized.
A KCAL News Next Weather Alert has been declared for much of Southern California because of a late-summer heat wave. It will go into effect on Wednesday and last through Saturday.
Ashli Lopez, 42, was last seen on June 20 at around 11:30 a.m. in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood, according to Los Angeles County deputies.
The crash happened in northbound lanes of I-5 near Euclid Street at around 9:45 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
It happened at around 4:50 p.m. near 215th Street East and E. Palmdale Boulevard, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The shooting happened on Saturday night at around 7:30 p.m. in a wash near Third Street and Palm Lane, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
Detectives say that the two victims were shot when they checked on their car, parked in an alley in the 8000 block of S. Hooper Avenue, after hearing its alarm blaring.
The agents waited outside of the family's home for several hours after the incident, according to San Bernardino police.
The family says the mountain lion was immediately spooked upon entering their home, taking off through the backdoor.
One man was killed and two others were wounded during an early morning shooting in an East Los Angeles alleyway on Saturday, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies.
It's unclear what caused the truck, which was carrying at least eight vehicles, to catch fire.
