Daniel Wilkerson is an Emmy Award-winning reporter for CBS News Atlanta's 6 p.m. and 11 p.m newscasts.
Daniel spent years reporting in Atlanta before returning to his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, in 2021 to work as an anchor and reporter for WHBQ, the FOX affiliate.
During his time reporting news in Atlanta, Daniel worked on several impactful and notable stories including the extended hospital stay and death of Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Daniel worked for months on the case interviewing family members and covering the funeral. Daniel also partnered with Nancy Grace, breaking new developments and conducting exclusive interviews with the family of 26-year-old Chase Massner, a missing husband, father and Iraq veteran. Daniel was the only reporter on scene when cadaver dogs hit on Massner's body in the backyard of a Cobb County home. Daniel and Nancy Gracy conducted the only interview with Massner's friend who would later be convicted after he buried the soldier's body in his backyard.
Before his first stint in Atlanta, Daniel reported and produced at KTHV, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas. He began his career in Jackson, Tennessee, at WBBJ, interning during his senior year at the University of Memphis, where he earned his bachelor's in communications.
Above all else, Daniel loves telling people-driven stories in which he can advocate for viewers.
If you see Daniel out and about, ask to see a photo of his parents, Danny and Renau (he's an only child - if that tells you anything, lol), and his beloved dogs, Lila and Dottie!
