Lee Carter on his campaign for Virginia governor

In Virginia's Democratic gubernatorial primary election on Tuesday, five candidates are competing to challenge Republican nominee Glenn Youngkin in the race to succeed Governor Ralph Northam. One of the candidates, Virginia Delegate Lee Carter, joins CBSN's Lana Zak to discuss some of his progressive policy proposals, including a plan to use newly legalized cannabis sales to fund reparations for Black and indigenous communities, and why he wants to "own the label" as a self-proclaimed socialist.

McConnell goal

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell renewed his doubts about Steve Bannon's primary threats on Tuesday, and said the party's goal is to "nominate people who can actually win." Michael Steel, managing director for Hamilton Place Strategies and former press secretary to House Speaker John Boehner, joined "Red and Blue" to discuss whether these threats are actually a problem for the GOP -- whether the White House should get more involved in the race for governor in Virginia.
