U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Leah Foley announced charges against 13 people for an elaborate "grandparent scam" that was allegedly based in the Dominican Republic.
Five individuals who were indicted and named in the case were acquitted of their charges.
Martinel Humphries was arrested in January and has now been indicted by a federal grand jury.
