It's in the same spot a massive sinkhole was filled just last week.
Police from dozens of departments across the area are cracking down on aggressive driving through August 20th.
It only took 12 days to rebuild the road, a massive undertaking, completed ahead of schedule. PennDOT made sure they stressed Friday that all the materials used in the build have been tested and everyone should feel safe going over the bridge. Dan Snyder reports on developments.
Shapiro was joined by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and other officials to discuss the reopening of I-95. The highway will reopen at 12 p.m. Friday.
PennDOT tells CBS News Philadelphia the temporary lanes of I-95 that were built in the area that had collapsed near Cottman Avenue will open sometime tomorrow. That's ahead of the governor's announcement earlier this week that said traffic would be flowing again this weekend.
The bridge over the collapsed portion of I-95 is complete and now the lanes are being paved and striped.
