Firefighters battled heavy flames Thursday morning at an apartment building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Chopper 2 was over the scene.
An estimated 450 residents who live in the complex are out of their homes ahead of the holiday.
Officials said the stubborn blaze at one point Wednesday grew to five alarms. CBS New York's Jenna DeAngelis reports.

The FDNY responded to a bus fire at Port Authority in Midtown on Tuesday. It happened on the lower level of the bus terminal. No one was hurt.
