NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who they said attacked and robbed an elderly woman on the Upper East Side.

The suspect followed the 84-year-old victim as she walked on 82nd Street at York Avenue on Monday morning, police said.

He then pushed the woman to the ground and stole her purse containing cash, a credit card and cell phone, police said.

The woman was not injured.

The suspect is described by police as a white man, 5'8" to 6' tall, approximately 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing white sneakers and maroon pants.
