B&C Morning Show: The Rangers' Defeat And TGFTY
With the Rangers' devastating loss taking center stage in the New York sports world today, it's easy to forget the Mets and Yankees also played last night. Luckily, Jerry "Rello" Recco had all the scores and audio from the Rangers, Mets, and Yankees. Plus, Jerry had some new information on the health of the ailing Knicks and the return of Jason Bay.
We all know Rangers coach John Tortorella can put on some entertaining press conferences, so after a loss like last night's we expected him to have a lot to say. Thus, Jerry opened his update with all the reaction from Rangers players and coaches after their 4-3 double OT loss.
In baseball land, the Mets fell 4-3 to the Astros despite rallying in the late innings. On the bright side, Daniel Murphy had a homer. On the down side, the Mets are one loss away from getting swept by one of the worst teams in the NL.
Up in Toronto, Bartolo Colon shined in his first start for the Yankees as the Bombers beat the Blue Jays, 6-2. Yet another reason for us to say TGFTY (Thank God For The Yankees).
In basketball, MRIs revealed Amar'e Stoudemire has a pulled muscle in his back and Chauncey Billups has a strained left knee. Amar'e is considered day-to-day and Chauncey is questionable for Friday. Speaking of injuries, Jason Bay is set to return to the Mets' lineup tonight.
