B&C Morning Show: Jerry 'Yellow' Does His Update Thing
Jerry arrived at work today ready to work up a sweat, or at least that is how he was dressed (pictured).
He claimed it was because of a combination of the Jewish holiday and the fact his wife has been under the weather, therefore falling behind on her laundry duties. Either way, I'm sure you'll agree: Jerry 'Yellow' looked a little silly.
Lucky for him, his foolish outfit didn't have a negative affect on his ability to write informative, award winning updates. With all of the action last night in Major League baseball, Jerry had his work cut out for himself this morning.
The Yankees built a 7-0 lead over the Rays, only to lose 8-7. We heard from the voice of the Bombers John Sterling, but noticeably absent from the Yankees radio broadcast was Craig's old friend Suzyn Waldman. Not to worry though, Craig made certain her presence was felt during the update.
The Rays' win, combined with the Red Sox's 4-3 loss to the Orioles, means Boston's season is over. That's sure to bring a smile to the faces of Yankees fans, like Craig for example, who is a 'Mets fan for Yankees'.
Jerry provided some entertaining audio of Rays manager Joe Maddon interviewing himself, Derek Jeter putting things into perspective, Johnny Damon further proving that he should probably not talk into a microphone unless he absolutely has to and Joe Girardi on the Yanks playoff rotation.
As for the Mets, their 3-0 win over the Reds was marred by Jose Reyes' decision to take himself out of yesterday's season finale after he felt he had secured the NL batting title. We heard Mets radio play-by-play man Howie Rose's reaction to Reyes' departure, while Terry Collins got a little choked up following the game.
Boomer & Craig reminded Collins that this is New York and the only time you're aloud to cry in the Big Apple is when Rangers legend Mark Messier sheds a tear. Hopefully the Mets manager gets the memo...
