2 Boys, 1 Adult Injured After Glass Falls From Paramus Mall Balcony
PARAMUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Three people suffered minor injuries Saturday after glass from a balcony barrier at a mall in Paramus, New Jersey fell about 30 feet and shattered on the floor below.
Paramus police told The Record it's not clear what caused the accident, which occurred around 3:20 p.m. at The Outlets at Bergen Town Center.
Two boys were taken to a hospital for evaluation, while a 67-year-old man declined treatment at the scene. The ages and names of the juveniles were not disclosed.
The glass pane supported a metal banister that provides a safety rail for a balcony inside the mall.
A metal stanchion was found near the balcony railing. Authorities said it's possible someone knocked it over and caused the glass to break.
Mall officials didn't respond to the Associated Press' requests for comment.
