A man and a woman in their mid-30s were killed when they were hit by an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner traveling southbound through Panorama City late Sunday evening.
Authorities responded to the 200 block of Las Brisas Circle around 7:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired during a domestic disturbance, according to a statement by the LA County Sheriff's Department.
Both fires were contained without reports of injury.
Nicolas Gandara, a 38-year-old father of six, was shot and killed when he tried to defuse an argument that had broken out between his neighbor and a homeless man living at an encampment in the area.
Investigators have not yet provided information on a suspect or a motive in the shooting.
A driver was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Pomona.
