The driver crashed into several parked cars before slamming into a vehicle parked in a driveway on Maltman Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. Friday evening. After being confronted by witnesses, the suspect attempted to flee from the scene, injuring two people in the process.
According to Riverside Police Department, the woman, in her 30s, was shot by a male suspect at around 11 p.m. Friday evening. The suspect was taken into custody.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m., when Orange County Fire Authority received a call of a person hanging on to a tree in a creek with rapidly moving water surrounding them.
Officers were in the area investigating "several recent murders that were related to a violent street gang," when they spotted the suspect, Daniel Felix, 47, who was armed with both a handgun and a knife.
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the shooting was reported at around 5 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Arizona Avenue.
