A 46-year-old man was fatally wounded when a heated argument in Long Beach escalated into a shooting, authorities said Saturday.
Officers were dispatched to the scene after reports of a shooting near Hubbard and Truman Streets at around 11 p.m.
Police have beefed up patrols near Rodeo Drive following a series of robberies.
The incident started after a suspect allegedly rammed an LASD patrol car with his vehicle.
He has not been identified, but police say the man matches the description of the pedestrian who was struck by the hit-and-run driver on Victory Boulevard the night before.
Michael Roe-Chien Hsu pleaded guilty on March 18 to "an act of sexual penetration where the victim was prevented from resisting by any intoxicating or anesthetic substance, or any controlled substance."
The culture and craze over mini bikes dates backs generations in some parts of the city, but police say street takeovers where riders perform stunts and stage races are particularly dangerous.
The victim reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was not breathing when first responders arrived.
The shooting occurred at around 10 a.m. Thursday in Lennox, an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County.
The suspect reportedly assault a sheriff's deputy, prompting the pursuit.
Angelique Teresa Chaidez, 46, is wanted for questioning in the Feb. 24, 2020 hit-and-run that killed 58-year-old Morena Del Carmen Alvarado Lopez and severely injured her husband, 71-year-old Juan Monroy Bahena.
Officers were called to a report of a robbery just before 2 p.m. Thursday at Louis Vuitton, 276 Via Rodeo Drive.
Deputies who arrived at the scene found Gomez driving a tanker truck with an expired registration full of water, along with a loaded firearm, and 8 grams of methamphetamine, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department.
Authorities say Baumbach, who was described as an overnight security guard for the shopping center, suffered blunt force trauma to his head and upper torso.
