The boy's mom, LaParis Jordan, has identified him as 7-year-old Aden Corothers. She said he was in good spirits as he was about to go get stitches Sunday evening and he would be kept at the hospital overnight for observation.
The was identified as 40-year-old Alivia A. Schwab, of Morris. Ms. Schwab was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:23 a.m.
Both victims were taken by the Chicago Fire Department to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the abdomen.
